About Wealth in Feng Shui

Many beginners think that if they activate Wealth Star, then they'll automatically get wealthy. This is incorrect.

The Ancient Chinese like to use hyperbolic words to exaggerate things. For example: they always said "Wan Sui" to the Emperor, which means: "Ten Thousands Years". This does not mean that they expected the Emperor to live or reign for 10,000 years. The more apt interpretation to English is something like "Long Live the Emperor!"

Back to Wealth Star, it is also a hyperbolic term. In practice, Wealth Star is actually Work Star or Business Star. If you activate the Wealth Star correctly, you will get more work. For Business Owners, more work normally (but not always) means more money. For salaried employees, more work just mean ... more work 😄

There are no shortcuts in life, only in movies, books or TV shows. Some practitioners say Feng Shui is multiplier effect. You need to put something to be multiplied.

If you are prepared to work hard (more work/business, hence more money), then Feng Shui can help you to enhance/multiply your results.

If you do nothing and just dream of easy money, then you won't get any results.

There are certain birth charts that have windfall luck, but that's a different topic.

Feng Shui Fundamentals - Landform

In Feng Shui, there are 2 things to look out for: Landform and Formula.

Landform is about the position of your property and its surroundings. What is outside your main door? What is outside your window? What is outside your balcony? How is the road to get to your property?Any blockages? Is it on a higher ground/hill? Is it on a lower ground/valley? Are there visible any rivers or mountains nearby?

Formula is about the Flying Stars and the Eight Mansions.

For Flying Stars, there are 9 Flying Stars in 9 sectors, and each sector has 2 Stars: the Mountain Stars and the Water Stars. There's also Period Stars, Annual Stars, Monthly Stars and even Daily Stars. I will not go into details about Flying Stars in this post (Will go into details on this in another post).

Eight Mansions is about the favorable and unfavorable directions and locations, based on each individual's birth chart. I will not go into details about 8 Mansions in this post. (Will go into details on this in another post).

What I would like to talk in this post is: Landform takes much much higher importance than Formula.

When I first learned Feng Shui, I was so fascinated with the Flying Stars, because it's the popular method. Many websites and teachers heavily promote Flying Stars. I can understand that for beginners, it's so fascinating to learn about how Flying Stars can improve your life. I was once a beginner, so I completely understand that feeling when people are so excited about it.

Is Flying Stars a valid method? Yes, it is. But there's an important factor here. After I learned deeper about Feng Shui and did a lot of practical assessments, I found that Form is much much more important than Formula. The Flying Star will only have effects if it's supported by an external Form.

Example #1: Your main door is facing Star 8 (seen as positive Star by many websites), but facing a straight narrow alleyway (bad landform). Because of the bad landform, you will get the negative effect of Star 8, instead of the positive effects of it.

Example #2: Your main door is facing Star 3 (which is seen as a 'bad' Star by many websites), but it has a good landform, because it's facing a slow moving water curved on a nice side. Because of the good landform, you will get the positive effects of Star 3.

Without any good landforms, the Stars don't really don't much.
Without any bad landforms, the Stars won't harm you.

Flying Stars is a good Feng Shui knowledge, if you know how to utilize it, but the most important thing is: The Property need to have the suitable landform to activate the Flying Stars.

Best Time to Engage a Feng Shui Consultant

When is the best time to engage a Feng Shui consultant?

Best time to engage a Feng Shui Master is BEFORE you move to the property. This is because external landforms (the surroundings) affect at least 70% of the property's Feng Shui. Internal adjustments can be made, and maybe helpful, but the impact of internal Feng Shui is about 30% or even less.

How big is the apartment? How many bedrooms? How many people will occupy the apartment? A Feng Shui master can give you advice on people to sleep in suitable rooms, and put the bed in a position that's suitable for the room occupants.

If it's a big family and big apartment (e.g: 4-5 bedrooms), it's probably worthwhile to get a reputable Feng Shui master so everyone can sleep in the rooms that are most suitable for them. If it's a small apartment (studio or one bedroom), you need to consider whether the cost is worth it.

Heaven, Earth, Man applications

According to Chinese metaphysics, someone's Destiny is based on three things: Heaven, Earth and Man.

1. HEAVEN:
Things that we were born with. Things we can't control, like our birthday, our parents, our city of birth. The Heaven part governs our personality, physical body, our talents, our genetics.

Ba Zi (8 characters astrology, based on our birth time, day, month and year) can help us to find out what our talents are, how to maximize our health, how to find out favorable time for us to do certain things.

Application:By finding out our talent, we should be able to make better decisions related to education, job, business, relationships. For example:
- Someone who has natural sports talent can pursue his sports training and pursue a career as a sportsperson, instead of wasting time studying accounting, which he has no talent of.
- Someone who has certain weakness can consume foods that are more suitable to her body, in order to boost her health.

2. EARTH:
Our environment. This aspect is something we can partially control. We can choose to live in a more beneficial environment.

The art of Feng Shui is to match the nature energy (for example: earth magnetic) and attune it with one's individual genetic. Certain directions/locations benefit some certain people. There are certain directions/locations based on Earth Magnetic Force that affects health, relationship, thoughts and morales.

Application: Feng Shui can help us to attune our mind and body in order to find and maximize opportunities. For example:
- Sleeping in a certain sector/direction can help someone to have a much better quality sleep and boost his/her immune system.
- Having the work desk in certain sector/direction can help someone to increase his/her productivity at work.
- Setting up a marketing campaign in a certain sector/direction can help someone's popularity.

3. MAN:
Human efforts. Our decisions. Our hard work. This aspect is something we can fully control.

Application:
By knowing our own strengths and weaknesses, and by knowing other people's psyche, we can make better decisions that impact our day to day live. For example:
- Organizing a date on a favorable day for the couple. On a day that's suitable for both, the mood will be good, and the result will be favorable.
- By knowing the personality of your boss, you can set your work performance to match or exceed his/her expectation. This may make you climb the corporate ladder higher.
- By knowing the strategy of your business rival, you can set up a plan that will be beneficial for your product.

IN CONCLUSION:
Ba Zi, Feng Shui, Qi Men Dun Jia are not magic. They are fantastic tools to help you making better decisions, achieve your goals, and improve your life.
